Son Kills Mother In Row Over Night Out

A Teen allegedly killed his mum when she told him he was grounded, it was claimed last night. Leah Smith, 41, was believed to have been hit with a blunt instrument as the pair rowed at home about a night out with friends. Her body was found at 1pm on Saturday and the boy was arrested in the evening following a search by armed cops. A female neighbour, who did not want to be named, said last night: They were a very close pair. There were often rows though, and this was another one about him not being allowed out with mates. She was a single parent and I think she was worried about him falling in with the wrong crowd. Bouquets of flowers were left outside their block of flats yesterday in Weymouth, Dorset. Leah and her teenage son are believed to have moved to the seaside town from Doncaster, South Yorks, in 2009. Police said the suspect remained in custody.
