Berekum Chelsea Confirm TP Mazembe Enquiry About Emmanuel Clottey

Berekum Chelsea Chief Executive Nana Kwame Nketiah has confirmed TP Mazembe's interest in red-hot striker Emmanuel Clottey. The 24-year-old has gained global attention after scoring 11 goals in five matches in the 2012 CAF Champions League. Last Sunday, he stunned TP Mazembe faithful with second half brace which secured a 2-2 draw in their Group B clash in Lubumbashi. TP Mazembe's rich owner Moise Katumbi, who is also the Governor of the Katanga Province in the southern part of the DR Congo, wants to add the 2007 Ghana Premier League goal king to their stock of foreigners. "Officials of TP Mazembe met us after the game and as usual they talked to us about the availability of Clottey," Nketiah told Sunyani-based Storm FM. "But we made it clear to them that he will not be available until after the Champions League. "Definitely you expect a lot of clubs to enquire about him and that is what they (Mazembe) did and I see no bad in that." TP Mazembe won the CAF Champions League on two occasions in 2009 and 2010.
