Emmanuel Frimpong Fined 6,000

EMMANUEL FRIMPONG has been fined 6,000 for calling a rival fan a scum Y**. The Arsenal midfielder, 20, made the comment on Twitter last month after being goaded by a Tottenham supporter who told Frimpong he prayed the player would break his arms and legs. He quickly removed the comment from the social networking site but the FA have today fined the former Wolves loanee for improper conduct and issued a warning to his future conduct. Frimpongs original tweet said: If you going church today Pray For me Giving today A Miss. The Gunners ace then retweeted a response from the Spurs supporter which said: I prayed you break your arms and legs. The term has been used for decades to identify Tottenham supporters because of the proportion of Jewish supporters at the North London club. Last year, comedian David Baddiel launched a campaign to stamp out use of the word in football chants, which can be viewed as anti-Semitic. However, many Spurs fans use the term Y** army themselves as a badge of honour and claim they are not offended by it.
