Fenerbache Target $2.5m Jerry Akaminko

Black Stars defender Jerry Akaminko has exclusively confirmed to Ghana Sports that former Turkish champions Fenerbache are among several Super Lig clubs interested in signing him for the 2012/2013 season. The Manisaspor defender, in a phone interview from his Turkish base, said Fenerbache are keen on signing him ahead of Trabzonspor and Eskisehirspor. The two clubs are also said to be wooing the former Black Meteors captain away from his relegated club. Fenerbache are seeking a centre-back after a deal to sign fellow Black Star centre back, John Mensah, appeared to be hitting the rocks. According to Akaminko,Eskisehirspor are keen on signing him because of their campaign in the 2012/2013 Europa League especially as they face Olympique Marseille in the qualifying round. Though the three clubs have made significant inroads in signing the ex-Heart of Lions player, Maniaspor are hesitant to release him as the steeled centre-back remains their most priced player. Akaminko has, however, said that he will not turn down an offer to play for any of these three clubs next season if an agreement is reached with his current club. Meanwhile, Jerry Akaminko has expressed his condolence to the family of late President J.E.A. Mills especially to his wife Dr. Ernestina Naadu Mills. He said his heart is with all Ghanaians in this trying moments.
