China Match Will Be Good Test For The Black Stars - Odartey Lamptey

A former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey said China will provide the Black Stars the required level of opposition ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The two countries will be locked down in an international friendly in Xian on Wednesday. The Black Stars are using the game to prepare for the 2013 Afcon qualifiers against Malawi with the first leg scheduled to be played in September at the Accra Sports stadium. China are currently ranked 69th in the latest Fifa world rankings, 37 places behind Ghana. However, Lamptey who played for Chinese side Shandong Luneng between 2001 and 2002 believes the Asians have grown into a good football nation. Ever since I left China, most of the clubs have been able to sign good players and this has had a trickledown effect on the quality of the league and Chinese football in general, he told Goal.com Ghana. I think China have a good side that can give Ghana the right opposition, the 37-year-old said. Ghanas last visit to Asia was in 2011 when the Black Stars were beaten 2-1 by South Korea.
