Culprits Would Be Dealt With Hugely After Investigation - NUGS

The Secretariat of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) wants to assure Ghanaian students and the general Public that investigation will soon commence on the mishappening at the Union�s 46th Annual Delegate Congress held in Kumasi which brought to an end the election for the new National Executive officers for the 2012/2013 Academic year. The issue of the alleged former NUGS Programs and Projects Secretary Mr. Samuel Mante bringing some Macho men to the voting premises to put fear and panic in the delegates would also attract the attention of the investigating team. Consequently, the issue of the alleged presence of the machetes will also be a focus of the investigators and perpetrators would be dealt with heavily. The Secretariat regrets the happenings and however hopes that, the report of the investigating team would serve as a guiding document protecting future generations of such occurrences in the Union�s future congresses. The National Executive Officers together with bloc heads will be meeting all the candidates for election on Friday, 17 August, 2012 at the premises of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) to consider a new date for a Non-Residential Emergency Congress to elect the Union�s new leadership for the period 2012/2013 NUGS calendar.
