Mahama Is Not Popular...'Thank You' Tour Is To Make Him More Visible To The Electorate

A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the ruling party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to openly concede that their flagbearer, President John Dramani Mahama is not popular and the party is therefore using the Thank You' tour to make him more visible and to shore up support for his candidature in December. Sammy Awuku believes President Mahamas nationwide tour to thank Ghanaians for the prayers and support they offered during the funeral of the late President John Mills is simply a political campaign being embarked on by the NDC. Contributing to discussions on Peace FMs Morning Show, Kokrokoo, Samuel Awuku said key personalities including the Chairman for the Funeral Planning Committee Kofi Totobi Quakye, former First Lady Mrs Naadu Mills (through Hon E.T Mensah), Chief of Staff, J.H Martey Newman had already expressed gratitude to Ghanaians in varied ways for their support during the late President Mills funeral. He thus wondered why President Mahama would want to tour the country wasting the countrys scarce resources claiming he is offering thanks when he had already done so via his Presidential Broadcast. NDC are not even bold to tell us that their flagbearer is on a campaign trail. The Funeral Planning Committee has expressed their thanks, Dr. Cadman Mills has expressed his thank, the Chief of Staff, Henry Martey Newman as well as the former First lady have also expressed their thanks; even President Mahama did his on national television where the whole country listened to him. How many times do they want to offer thanks for Mills funeral? A whole month? This is an indication of how clueless this government is with the current socio-economic problems that Ghanaians are faced with. NDC are using propaganda and politics of deceit. They have shown us that the business of Ghana does not matter to them. NDCdont know what they want; they are confused. They are not even bold to tell Ghanaians that their candidate (President Mahama) is not popular so they are just using the Thank You tour as a way of making him more visible he said.
