President Mahama Reminds Ghana Armed Forces Of Political Neutrality

President John Dramani Mahama has charged the Military to executive their duties effectively devoid of partisanship in order to maintain the peace in the country. He reminded them that the colours of the Ghana Armed Forces are not for any political party but rather that of the nation. President Mahama said this at the 2012 Military Academy Graduation in Accra. He stressed that Ghana is a beacon of hope in democracy in Africa and as such all especially the security agencies must work towards maintaining this fact in the impending electioneering. He also stressed government's commitment to upgrade the Military Academy. In pursuance of this, attention will be given towards addressing the teething infrastructural and logistical challenges of the Academy and the Military as a whole. President Mahama advised the graduands to make professionalism their hallmark for them to contribute earnestly to the nation's development. He further encouraged them to be abreast of current happenings across the world in relation to their profession due to the growing sophistication in crime. This way they will be more empowered to strategise and face them squarely.
