A deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has promised the people of North Tongu the Juapong Textile Factory will be revived soon to serve as a major source of employment. Hon. Ablakwa was addressing a gathering at the Methodist Park in Juapong after a health walk over the weekend. He sponsored the health screening of the hundreds of people who were present. Speaking to Citi News, Hon Ablakwa said: �Government has been bringing some investors to have a look at the Juapong Textile Factory and they have been returning with proposals and government have been studying all those proposals to see which will be the best and how well we can deliver on our promise that we�ve made to the people.� �It used to employ so many people, it used to be the growth pole around which all economic activities in Juapong was centered. A lot of things that we are importing we can do here, we still have uniformed men and women, nurses and school children all wear uniforms, so we can revive this factory so that all of these interventions and projects will be fed by the textile factory. We are hopeful that very soon these investors will come in and partner government in a public-private partnership so that we can revive the factory,� Hon. Ablakwa, who is the NDC parliamentary aspirant for the North Tongu constituency, said. �We are going to make sure that we work assiduously to race against time.� He called on the people of North Tongu to rally behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in order to retain power during the December polls. The health walk was attended by some top shots of the NDC including Dr. Omane Boamah, James Agyenim Boateng, Stan Dogbe, Kobby Acheampong, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, John Abu Jinapor and many others. He donated some footballs and sets of jerseys to the youth football teams in the Juapong area.
