The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described claims by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that President John Dramani Mahama is �corrupt� and suffers from a "chronic case of indecisiveness� as �outlandish� and �bogus�. The NPP, on Tuesday, launched a full-frontal assault on the Mahama-led NDC government, calling on the electorate not to renew the NDCs mandate saying a vote for the current administration is "a vote for corruption, lies and debts". Addressing a press conference in Accra, the NPP catalogued a litany of botched agreements involving President Mahama, and accused him of losing for the nation, huge sums of money in pursuit of those deals which the NPP described as questionable. But in a quick rebuttal on Citi Eye Witness News, a member of the Government�s Communication Team, Felix Ofosu-Kwakye described the NPPs assertions as a �bogus conclusion premised on some of the most ridiculous; outlandish claims ever made in our political history.� �The NPP wants us to believe that merely because of transactions between the government of Ghana and STX Korea to build a number of houses, President Mahama is corrupt? It is the most ridiculous argument I have heard. How can a serious political party hold a press conference and make such arguments? If they are incapable of sustaining meaningful debate on the issues that matter to Ghanaians, then they should simply quit our politics. How can somebody tell me that because the President�s brother headed a company; a company that has been in existence over a decade and it entered into an agreement with the Merchant Bank to secure a loan, the President must be blamed and called corrupt? I simply cannot fathom the level of ridiculousness the NPP has descended into and I think that they need to elevate the discourse�,� he asserted.
