Who Wins Miss Road Safety?

The second edition of Miss Road Safety, a beauty pageant which seeks to create awareness on the safety of our roads will take place at the National Theatre Friday October 5. The 10 contestants namely Zuera Ahmed, Emefa Elsie Nyonator, Louisa Yayra Ziorklui, Joana Boakye, Patience Dowuona Hammond, Bishara Pelpuo Salifu, Gifty Solo, Regina Nana Ekua Asae, Benedicta Mawuenyega and Eudora Animah Andoh who were selected three months ago are currently being groomed into road safety ambassadors. Organised by Functional Keys Limited and the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) the winner will walk home with a car and other consolation prizes. Kwame Koduah Atuahene, Head of Communications at National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) said �Ghanaians generally appreciate the arts and applaud their icons and it is the hope of the organization that It has been proven to be impacting in other endeavors why not road safety. We are trusting that the pageant will break barriers with her personality to complement other strategic countermeasures� According to him, the pageant does not only seek to project a personality who will use her influence as an ambassador to boost sponsorships and participation for road safety projects but also to engage critical categories of road users on some of the global best road use practices that can positively impact on road safety in Ghana. Ms Mariam Naa Abbey, a 26-year old Teaching assistant of the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana last year won the maiden edition. Artistes billed will on the night are Kwabena Kwabena, Herty Borngreat, Cedi & Nira and CNN.
