EOCO Grants NPP's John Kumah Bail

Peacefmonline.com can confirm that outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist, John Kumah, has been granted bail by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). He was granted bail with two sureties and is required to appear at the offices of the EOCO on Monday for further interrogations. John Kumah, who is a member of the NPP's Communication Team, was picked up for questioning by EOCO officials on Wednesday afternoon for allegedly faking a National Investment Bank Bond Guarantee to secure a Japanese grant and incarcerated for more than 48 hours. A member of his legal team, the NPP MP for Abuakwa South, Atta Akyea, who confirmed his client�s release a short while ago, stated that �he has been asked to report on Monday, October 8.� According to him, EOCO has charged his client with falsification of some bank guarantees and was made to write a statement on all the issues raised. Aside Atta Akyea, a former Attorney General in the erstwhile Kufuor administration, Joe Ghartey, Mr. Gary Nimako-Marfo and Mike Ocquaye Jr. represented him as counsels. More soon...
