Appoint Knowledgeable People As Polling Agents

Mr Kofi Mintah, a founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has appealed to party executives to appoint knowledgeable and dedicated members as polling agents for the upcoming general election. He reminded the party to be aware that elections were won or lost at polling stations, and as such it was important that people appointed to represent the party at that level were those the party could trust. Mr Mintah gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Winneba. He cautioned the people who would be appointed as polling agents to be vigilant in order to ensure that the electoral process was followed by the voters as well as agents of other political parties. We must not sit down unconcerned for our verdict to be stolen, Mr Mintah said. He appealed to the party to adopt house-to-house and group-to-group campaign strategies since mounting of platforms cost a lot, and did not make the message get to all those they were intended for.. He said the NDC government under the late President John Evans Atta Mills had done so well that when they based their campaign messages on the achievements, he was sure the electorate would return the party to power on December 7. Mr Mintah called for hard work from the members and supporters of the party and urged them to avoid complacency which could affect the fortunes of the party in the election. We must all put our shoulders to the wheel to ensure that victory is achieved in the first round of voting, he said.
