Four Ghanaians Arrested At Ivory Coast Border

The Western Regional Police Command has arrested four residents of Elubo for attempting to transport some travelers to Ivory Coast through unapproved routes. The four were reportedly apprehended when they tried to escape with the fares of the travelers. Narrating the incident to Citi News, the Director of Health at the Elubo border, Jumah Ansah said security patrols have since been intensified. According to Mr. Ansah, they arrested some people who were crossing the border through unapproved routes with travelers. They sneak the travelers through these routes and cross the river Tano. But these people collected the monies from travelers and wanted to run away. The Ivorian authorities closed the border near Elubo in the Western Region about three weeks ago after attacks on an Ivorian army checkpoint in the border town of Noe left about four people dead.
