NPP Begins Vetting For 45 New Cnstituencies

The NPP will on Tuesday begin vetting the party�s over 200 members who are vying for parliamentary seats for the newly created 45 constituencies. The party said 200 eligible candidates picked nomination forms to contest in those constituencies. The party opened nominations last week. Speaking to Citi News, the Director of Elections and Research of the NPP, Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah stated that all logistics have been put in place for a nationwide vetting. �All logistics have been moved, all personnel are informed and applicants are ready and are reporting to where the vetting is going to take place�, he said. He further mentioned that �It will take place simultaneously across the country at the regional capitals where we have designated for the vetting to go on and afterward, the results for successful applicants would be made known to the applicants themselves.� According to Mr. Mensah, �There will be a mini balloting just to see where they placed on the ballot and then from there campaign starts however, the real exercise is on the 14th of October but between this everybody gets to campaign for this election.� He added that �It�s about the five category; five nominated patrons, five nominated council of elders, all electoral area coordinators, all 16 constituency executives and all polling stations within the newly carved constituencies.�
