Evangelist Ask Ghanaians To Ensure Incident Free Election

Dr Lawrence Tetteh, an International Evangelist on Tuesday observed that the panacea for an incident-free election in December is for every Ghanaian to reflect peace and not only talk about it. He said beyond sometimes the bitter rivalries, the competing political sides should forge harmony of purpose among the people to allow good sense to take precedence over combative sentiments. Dr Tetteh was addressing the media in Ho just before the commencement of an evangelistic outreach dubbed: Ho for Christ Crusade, from Wednesday ending on Friday. He said everybody must make him or herself an ambassador for peace, so that the posture would streak through all and sundry and amalgamate into a strong national sentiment. Dr Tetteh said through this way it would be much easier for supporters of any side to accept defeat in the December 7 General Election in good faith. He expressed concern about the lingering insults in political discussions, wondering if the designation of one as member of a communication team of a political party was license to insult opponents. Dr Tetteh said respect for one another was important in all relationships, including politics. He expressed dissatisfaction that the inter-party rapport and a seeming national cohesion after the death of Professor John Evans Atta Mills had gone. He said peace comes from God, so we must all allow godly aspirations to guide our actions and behaviour before, during and after the elections. Dr Tetteh said Ghanaians should be guided by the fact that our country, Ghana is an oasis of peace in a turbulent sub-region and therefore we must not allow the devil to permeate the fibre of our nation. On the programme with Dr Tetteh is Rev Paul Naughton of the Benny Hinn Ministries in the UK.
