Nana Konadu Is NDP Flagbearer

Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has been endorsed as the flagbearer of the National Democratic Party for the December 7 elections. Mrs Rawlings was unanimously endorsed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDP after she went into Saturdays congress as the sole contender. The former First Lady on Thursday resigned from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to pave way for her to begin the process of filing her nomination to contest the flag bearership race of the NDP, a breakaway party of the NDC. She was the former Second Vice-Chairperson of the ruling party. In her acceptance speech, Mrs Rawlings promised an all-inclusive government, that will embrace particularly women and children, who happen to be the most marginalized. She also gave the assurance that the NDP will practice people over politics stressing that her administration will be guided by its moral obligation to the masses. Describing her endorsement as a new era in the Ghanaian political landscape, Mrs Rawlings pledged to eradicate the endemic challenges of poverty and discontent which remains rife among Ghanaians. The NDP Presidential Candidate-elect further stated that her party will as a matter of fact restore the principles of probity and accountability to governance in the country. More soon....
