President John Dramani Mahama has again pledged his government's commitment to ensuring that fee paying at the basic education level is completely eliminated by 2016. Playing down on the NPP's free SHS policy at separate rallies at Saboba, Chereponi, Gushiegu and Karaga, all in the Northern Region, President Mahama noted that the foundation of education begins at the Basic level. Without comprising quality, the NDC will build 200 community schools across the country in the immediate term to provide access to all pupils at the basic level in deprived communities. According to President Mahama, the NPP's free SHS is standing on its head instead of its feet. Radio Ghana�s correspondent reports that though it had been raining in the North, the Campaign recorded huge crowds.
