It Serves Them RightNDC Has Been Hit By Karma Kweku Baako

Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr., has attributed current happenings within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) where the Founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings seems to be on a collision course with the party hierarchy to the Law of Karma. The seasoned journalist strongly believes the NDC is receiving just reward for some of the atrocities its mother party, the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) carried out during its heydays. Karma, Sanskrit word for "action", is sometimes referred to as a "moral law of cause and effect" and maintains that every action performed in life creates another reaction which in turn produces a new counter action. Thus, an endless chain of actions and reactions is produced which binds the living entity to his good and bad deeds, and to Kweku Baako, the NDC is being paid back for everything it did prior to the formation of the party. According to him, in 1981, a group of mutineers, claiming the Dr Hilla Limann-led Peoples National Convention (PNC) government had betrayed the trust of Ghanaians, committed treason by toppling it. He disclosed that the Limann administration, like the present NDC government, was faced with internal bickering and strife, with some even accusing the government of widespread corruption. He added that whiles some headed for court; others held press conferences to make their voices heard. Thirty years down the line, he said, the NDC, an offshoot of the PNDC, after screaming integrity, integrity, accusing Limann of corruption and staging a coup dtat, has fallen short of the principles of probity, accountability and transparency they so proudly espoused. He posited that the NDC perpetrated political fraud in this country before it was formed and later after its formation, the party used state resources to finance and campaign during elections.
