Court Orders Police Service To Withdraw DSP Tehoda's Dismissal Letter

The Human Rights Court has ordered the Ghana Police Service to withdraw DSP Tehodas dismissal letter with immediate effect. DSP Tehoda, who was the Deputy Head of the Police Commercial Crimes Unit, was axed by the Police Central Disciplinary Board on August 28, 2012. The Bureau of National Investigations implicated DSP Tehoda in the circumstance leading to the swapping of the 120 kilogrammes of cocaine exhibit which formed the basis for the trial of one Nana Ama Martin by an Accra Circuit Court. Her dismissal from the Police Service comes months after she was cleared by the criminal court of all wrong doings. Her Lawyers after her dismissal sued the Police Service describing her dismissal as illegal and an affront to Ghanas judicial system. But on Monday, the Human Rights Court, presided over by Justice Essel ruled that her dismissal letter be withdrawn until the court decides on her fate.
