(PUC). Ms Rachel is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and represents the NDC as a parliamentary candidate of the newly created Gomoa Central Constituency of the Central Region. She is a member of the communication team of the NDC in the Central Region. Why MP? It was realized that, Gomoa Central Constituency is far behind development since 1992. The constituency though newly-created was under Gomoa East and has experienced five male MPs since 1992 but has still not brought any development to the peoples lives. It is time for the women in the constituency to pick up the challenge to intervene in such situation. I would want to provide a selfless leadership, and together with the Chiefs and people, NGOs, the Government, the District Assembly and well wishers both at home and abroad, marshal resources in all forms to establish viable economic activities to provide sustainable employment to the people especially the youth and women. I shall make sure to lobby with the banks and Micro finance to secure available loans and technical assistance for entrepreneurs for business setups or expansion I shall mobilize the people to subscribe to the NHIS to receive timely and available health care Under my leadership, I shall subsidize or lobby with agric ministry for agric materials/ inputs since the majority of the people are farmers. I shall give scholarships to five brilliant but needy female students each year from the MP Common Fund and would liaise with the District Assembly to enhance the number further to include male students in the secondary level. I shall do everything in my power as an MP to persuade parents to send every child of school going age to school and be retained until the completion of the basic education. I shall promote sporting activities and youth development programmes to ensure that the youth channel their energies into productive engagements. I shall instill a leadership of unity and togetherness among constituency executives, District Chief Executive, Chiefs and among the citizens Lastly, women are passionate, more accountable, easily assist people, less corrupt, manage resources carefully and turn to understand problems the more.
