Subin Launches Campaign

THE SUBIN constituency was in an ecstatic mood over the weekend as the Member of Parliament for the area; Isaac Osei organized a peoples forum and later launched his campaign to seek re-election. The momentous occasion was graced by party stalwarts such as S.K Boafo, Dr. Akoto Osei, Kennedy Agyapong, Gifty Klenam, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Catherine Afeku, Ayisi Boateng, Otiko Djaba, Abu Jinapor, Moctar Bamba, John Boadu and Patricia Appiagyei. Hundreds of enthusiastic supporters defied the rain to support their MP at the Amakom Division School Park. Addressing the charged crowd, Mr Osei, highlighted numerous projects he had undertaken in the constituency since his assumption into office. These include the distribution of 100 computers and printers to public schools, sewing machines to two vocational institutions, provision of street lights to all electoral areas, building of a bio-gas plant and boreholes at Ahmadiyya SHS and some selected communities, provision of scholarships to 220 students, provision of 50 fish ovens to some market women, the rehabilitation of a railway bridge and some school blocks among others. Mr. Osei also answered questions on a wide variety of issues. According to him, the NPP had an enviable track record not only in economic management and infrastructural development but in implementing social policies geared towards mitigating the plight of the people. The free maternal healthcare, NHIS, school feeding program, LEAP, capitation grants for basic schools and NYEP were all viable programs designed and implemented by the NPP regime which are now in a mess under the ruling NDC government, he said. He noted the NDC government must make infrastructure development a priority and urged government to rehabilitate the Yalewa-Zongo roads and the Anlo-Fante-Newtown and Afful-Nkwanta drainage systems, all within the constituency. He encouraged the teeming supporters gathered to spread the good policy initiatives of Nana Akufo-Addo to provide free SHS, strengthen the NHIS and create more jobs. The Subin MP finally entreated supporters to remain vigilant on election day to prevent rigging and also turn out in their numbers to vote massively for the NPP in ensuring a first-round victory for the party.
