Police Hunts For Tongueless Man

The Kasoa police have mounted a hunt for a middle-aged man whose tongue was bitten off by a 14-year-old pupil he allegedly tried to defile and in the process to kiss her at Kasoa Zongo near Accra on October 16, this year. The police have also alerted all health facilities including the Kasoa government Hospital to be on the lookout for any half-tongue person seeking treatment and report to the police. The Kasoa District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Ebenezer Kweku Asare, when contacted confirmed the story and said the girl (name withheld) lives with her parents at Kasoa Zongo. He said on October 19, the victim�s mother went for late church service (all night), adding that the girl was expecting the mother�s arrival. Chief Superintendent Asare said at about 1:30am the girl heard a knock on the door and thinking it was her mother, opened the door. �According to the girl, a masked man entered the room and tried to rape her, he attempted kissing her and in the process she bite off the tongue which made him take to his heels,� he added. He said the victim accompanied by the mother with the tongue the following morning reported the case to the police. C/Supt Asare said investigation is still ongoing while the victim had currently been sent to an unknown place for safe keeping. �The suspect is on the police wanted list to help in investigations� he added.
