Kofi Asare-Brako Abatay Resigns...

After 16 years of broadcasting both radio and TV renowned Sports Journalist Kofi Asare-Brako has laid down his microphone to pursue his dream of representing the people of Akim Oda in the December 7, 2012 general elections. Mr Asare-Brako, popularly known as Abatay, tendered in his resignation to the management of Multimedia Group Limited on Thursday October 25 to take effect on Thursday November 1, 2012. He is one of seven persons vying for the seat, and has filed his papers with the Electoral Commission to run as an Independent candidate. Confirming his intentions on Adom FMs Dwaso Nsem morning show on Monday October 29, Kofi Asare-Brako said after persistent calls from his family and the people of Oda, he believes the time has come to go back to his roots and properly articulate the concerns of the people of Akim Oda in Parliament because former and sitting MPs had failed to deliver. After 16 yrs of broadcasting, both radio and TV, I think its time I went back to help and represent my people in Parliament. After fruitful deliberations with management of Multimedia, I have decided to resign in order not to drag the business into politics. As a beacon of hope for the youth of the entire constituency, I urge them to vote on development oriented issues and not on party lines to elect a credible candidate to be their representative in Parliament. I am very confident and full of belief that come the end of voting I will win by majority of votes.
