Asem Mocks Sarkodie, Wanlov, Mzbel, Eazzy, DKB Others

For the past two years Rapper Asem has made it an annual ritual to put together topical entertainment issues in the form of a comic rap song which has been greatly accepted by his fans; and gradually, this has become an end of year feature Ghanaians look forward to. The first was Fylla released in 2010 and it was indeed a novelty. The song got the whole industry talking and numerous reviews on several media platforms and pundits commended his creativity and sense of humor. In 2011, which seemed as one of the most difficult years for the rapper, when he was accused of allegedly raping an underage girl, the bad press that followed did not put him down, and he released yet another thought provoking comic single titled The Last Song which was similar to Fylla in terms of humour and how it involved other artistes. The subject matter was more about the biggest songs that were released that year and he played on the lyrics and hooks to tell a story about himself and his issues, and it instantly became a street anthem. Asem has done it again this year and he just released the 2012 edition titled Last Fylla. Right from January social media has been buzzing in anticipation of what the Give Me Blow rapper will be releasing this time around. In a rather humorous way, Asem talked about Wanlovs public exposure of his manhood on the Delay show then on TV3. Wanlov was bold enough to show his thing on TV but it wasnt bold enough was Asems exact words in that line. Asem went on to talk about Wanlovs sister, Deborah Vanessa Uncle Obama song saying that, Wanlovs small thing was the reason why she played that song because it was too small for her monkey. He also touched on Mzbels alleged assault of a Police Officer and the famous DKB slap in the Big Brother Stargame house. Asem played around Mzbels encounter with the Police Officers which got her in trouble and DKBs encounter with Sierra Leones Zainab at the Big Brother Stargame house which became a big issue in Ghana in a very creative manner. He also mentioned the sensational Ghanaian Azonto dance which is making waves all over the world but cautioned his fellow musicians about the recent decline in lyrical content in our music, mentioning Keches hit song Aluguntugui as an example. As a line in the last verse of the new single goes, he save the best for last as he clearly mocked Ghanaian tongue twisting rapper and BET Award recipient Sarkodie, for his controversial "Irish Cream" line on the BET 2012 Cypher. Even though Asem said it was just for laughs he mocked Sarkodie saying Irish Cream is not an ingredient and that Sarkodie's punch-line is very serious and dangerous.
