Ayariga: Stop Paying Lip Service To Youth Empowerment

The presidential nominee of the Peoples National Convention, PNC, Hassan Ayariga, has asked the government not to pay lip service to the issue of youth empowerment but demonstrate real commitment to ensuring that the youth are well equipped to lead in the transformational drive of the country. He said the youth, when given the opportunity can impact positively on the society. Mr Ayariga said it is unfortunate that Ghanas youth cannot think of a prosperous future because all the policy that government professes is only on paper without implementation. Mr Ayariga threw the challenge when he addressed market women and youth activists at Nadowli in the Upper West Region. He said a PNC government will put the youth at the forefront of all it development agenda and called on them to vote massively for the party in the December election. At Jirapa, Mr Ayariga said for far too long the countrys destiny has been toyed with by the NDC and NPP. According to him, it is regrettable that major sectors of the economy are being controlled by foreigners because government policies do not encourage enough local participation. Mr Ayariga also made whistle stops at Dowine where he addressed party supporters and promised that an old PNC office in Dowine that has been closed down will be opened before the elections in December. He also addressed similar gatherings at Eremon and Lawra all in the Upper West Region. The PNC flagbearer is currently heading to the Upper East to begin a four day campaign tour.
