The incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Ketu South Constituency, Albert Zigah, has strongly indicated his plan to contest the seat as an independent candidate in the upcoming elections. Zigah lost to Deputy Finance Minister Fifi Kwetey during the NDC primaries for that Constituency. Sharp divisions are coming between the leadership of the NDC in the Ketu South constituency as the incumbent goes independent to contest the deputy minister come December. Hon Zigah alleged that even right after the primaries at Abgozume, Hon Kwetey and his campaign members had been attacking him. A member of Hon Kwetey�s campaign team, Mr. John Jerry Dadegbe denied the allegation. He alleged that Hon Zigah was working with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on a strategy named �Operation reduce the votes� over an alleged 800 million old cedis that Hon Zigah said he had loaned to the party. The Volta regional chairman of the NPP, Mr. Kwasi Aboagye said he heard Zigah was going independent but has not spoken to him to check since the primaries.
