Sulley Muntari Suffers Fresh Injury Setback

Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari has suffered an obstacle in his comeback from injury after wounding himself in training with AC Milan. The enforcer returned from a long injury lay-off and was primed to return for the Rossoneri in the weekends clash with Chievo, having trained with the Milan first team the whole week. But a muscular injury wreaked havoc on his chances for returning to action over the weekend. Milan boss Maxmilliano Allegri however thinks Muntari would shake off the fresh injury and bounce back soon in the weekends game against Fiorentina. Its a simple muscle strain, an inconvenience with normal ligaments surgery. Its certainly a set back and would be monitored by the medical team, the AC Milan coach said. He would be monitored and hopefully return for our next game against Fiorentina,Allegri explained to reporters at Milanello. The Ghana international has recovered from a serious knee injury sustained over the summer but is yet to play for the Rossoneri this term. The former Inter Milan enforcer was an unused substitute in the midweek draw at Palermo giving a strong indication of his closeness to making a triumphant return to active play. The 28-year-old however mixed the game against Chievo who had fellow Ghanaian Isaac Cofie in their ranks. The Ghanaian however also failed to get off the bench to help his battered side at San Siro.
