President John Dramani Mahama,has again stated government's plan to improve on the faculty and infrastructure in all the country's Polytechnics to upgrade them into fully fledged technical universities. He said the system has been tried and tested globally and it has worked. Citing the UK for instance,he said all Polytechnics there have been transformed into Technical Universities awarding their own degrees. The President was addressing large crowd of young intellectuals of the Koforidua Polytechnic in the Eastern region.President Mahama stated that the process of upgrading will start within his next term in office.
