Yahaya Mohammed Wants Kotoko Return

Ghana Premier League top scorer Yahaya Mohammed wants a Kotoko return, but says he will not make it easy as the Kumasi side should have taken his stature and form into consideration before loaning him out. The midfielder is the most in-form player in the league, after scoring his fifth goal of the season on Sunday. Amidaus are currently 11th on the table with 9 points. "The problems I had with Kotoko was not due to my performance but somehow financial. I came here to improve myself as a player and I am sure I can do that. Kotoko should have thought about it before loaning me out. I want to prove to them that I am still a good player." He then issued a come-and-get-me plea to the reds, with whom he is yet to reach the hype that surrounded his capture. "I have to prove to them that my coming to Amidaus was not just to come and play. So the challenge Kotoko threw to me to go for a loan with the mind that I am not in their plans, I have to fight hard and knock on the door of Kotoko so that they know that they have lost a player and they should come back for that player." But the management of the Tema-based side are not willing to let their prized asset go, arguing that Yahaya was signed on a year long deal, rather than the six month stint Kotoko claimed to have sealed. It remains to be seen if the reds will haggle for the midfielder, at a time when some dynamism is badly needed with the imminent departure of Daniel Nii Adjei to TP Mazembe and the inability of Helegbe, Michael Akuffu and Issa Yakubu to supply goals.
