Police In Ashanti Commence Investigations Into Stabbing Incident

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into a stabbing incident which occurred at Asokore Zongo close to Effiduase in the Region. 25-year-old, Alhassan Faisal is reported to have suffered stab wounds in the chest for refusing to remove President Mahamas posters on his motorbike by one Sudaise Osman. Police reports indicate that the two were arguing over the removal of the posters when he was stabbed. The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Speaking to Citi News Ashanti regional Police PRO, ASP Yussif Tanko said the suspect was still in custody. According to the suspect, they both are from the same extended family and are sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) except Faisal who is a National Democratic Congress (NDC) guy, so he [Faisal] mounted the flag on his bicycle. ASP Tanko further disclosed, Sudasie confronted him and asked him to remove the flag but he refused and that led to an argument which generated into a fight and thus, the stabbing. Sudasie said the stabbing was unintentional so we are holding him while Faisal receives treatment in the hospital. Investigations are still ongoing, he added. On the matter of the Ashtown shooting incident, ASP Tanko said the police were yet to apprehend the suspect involved in the case. We have not been able to get in touch with the suspect in the case so we have appealed to the people in the metropolis and beyond that if anyone can furnish us with even a photograph of the suspect so we put it in the public domain. The case is still under investigations in Kumasi but it is not out of place for anyone to be invited by the CID in Accra.
