The NDC parliamentary candidate for Tema West Constituency and also the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has lost the bid to represent his party in Parliament.
He lost to the incumbent NPP MP for the area Hon. Irene Naa Toshie Addo by a slim margin.
Honourable Ofosu Ampofo polled 39,005 and the incumbent MP polled 39,950. This was one of the keenly contested seats in the Parliamentary elections as pundits had predicted victory for the Minister.
