Move Out Of The Spirit Of Competition - Prez Mahama

President elect, John Dramani Mahama has asked the nation to move away from the spirit of competition to the spirit of cooperation. According to him the elections is now over and therefore there is the need to come together and work hard towards the development of the country. President Mahama was elected President of the republic with 50.70% of total valid votes cast in the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections. Addressing party supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at a rally dubbed Thank You Ghana held at the Obra Spot of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, he called for an all hands on deck approach because there is much work to be done in the country. I urge everyone to take this opportunity to come together to move out of the spirit of competition and move now into the spirit of cooperation. There is much work to be done, the issues and challenges that face our nation have no allegiances. We cannot afford to be enemies of our own progress and we cannot afford to stand divided. It is too great a burden for this nation. We have come too far in this journey to woo ourselves with pettiness, negativity...I know that together we can change this country; we can and we will make it better he said. He also thanked the Ghanaian electorate for the trust reposed in him and promised to "work hard for and behalf of every Ghanaian." Quoting Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah: (I am depending upon the millions of the country, chiefs and people to help me shape the destiny of this country. We are prepared to pick it up and make it a nation that will be respected by every nation in the world. We know we are going to have difficult beginnings but again I am relying on your support; I am relying upon your hard work"), President elect Mahama said he is counting on the support of every Ghanaian to make Ghana a better place to live in.
