Government Urged To Revisit Status Of Polytechnics

The Rector of the Takoradi Polytechnic, Rev. Professor Daniel Nyarko, has urged government to revisit the issue of the status of Polytechnics. He said if the country is to consolidate it's middle income status and strive for rapid industrialisation growth, Polytechnic education must be accorded the needed priority. Rev. Professor Nyarko, therefore suggested the upgrading of some of the Polytechnics into technical universities as Britain and other European and South Asian countries have done instead of starting a new technical University from the scratch. He was speaking at a forum organised by the Polytechnic in Takoradi.
