The leadership and members of the Volta Region House of Chiefs have the pleasure of extending our warm congratulations to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama on his election as President of the Republic of Ghana in the just ended 2012 elections. When President Mahama assumed the presidency after the demise of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, we were inspired by his promise to pursue his predecessor�s agenda of strengthening the peace and unity of Ghana, and ensuring that all Ghanaians benefit from the country�s development and prosperity. The President has, in the four-and-a-half months preceding his election, demonstrated through his words and actions, a commitment to live up to his promise. We believe this inspired Ghanaians to put their trust in him. We, the chiefs and people of the Volta Region, and the Volta Region Development Agency, look forward to working with the President to further strengthen the peace and unity of Ghana, and to ensure its equitable development. The Volta Region House of Chiefs also wishes to thank the people of Volta Region for the exemplary manner in which they conducted themselves before, during and since the elections of December 7, 2012. The House takes this opportunity to appeal to all Ghanaians to endeavour to use constitutional means to resolve all outstanding issues in order to protect the peace and tranquility that have become the hallmark of our beloved country.
