Dr. Ato Arthur Outlines Vision For KEEA

The Member of Parliament (MP)-elect for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has outlined plans to develop the area. He said he will implement the �2015 strategy� programme he initiated when he was District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area some ten years ago. Dr Arthur told the GNA at Elmina that the plan that sought to rehabilitate some ancient and historic buildings in the Elmina Township for touristic attraction and the beautification of the area, among others, received support from Gouda in the Netherlands, when he was DCE. The MP-elect said he initiated sister-city partnership between the constituency and some cities outside Ghana, leading to the supply of sanitation equipment, industrial power generator and a ambulances. Nana Arthur stressed that is going to work by the five thematic areas of the 2015 Strategy; tourism, local economic development, fishing, farming and education. Under tourism, he promised to ensure that tourist attractions in the area were renovated. On Local economic development, Dr. Arthur said fishing, farming and other economic activities would be promoted to facilitate the development of the area. Dr Arthur said he will also revive the exchange programme between Gouda and some KEEA Senior High Schools towards the promotion of education in the area. He expressed gratitude to the people of KEEA for electing him as MP, and pledge to serve them fairly.
