I Have Not Declined Any Position Mumuni

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni has denied rejecting an offer from the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be the 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament in the soon- to- be- inaugurated Sixth Parliament of the Fourth Republic. According to him, he is a loyal party member who is willing to hold any position in the party. He also denied rejecting the offer because he would have to serve under Edward Doe Adjaho who is going to be the next Speaker of Parliament. In an interview with Citi News, Alhaji Mumuni explained saying, as far as I am concerned, I have not been formally presented or offered any job to which I have declined. All of the statements I have heard have come from the media and I am a very loyal party member and I respect the persons who make these decisions. He stressed that I have not declined any position offered to me by the party. Certainly I will cross the bridge when I get there but I do not want to overly anticipate anything. Yesterday reports from a meeting of the NDC leadership with their MPs-elect said Alhaji Mumuni had rejected the offer compelling the leaders to replace him with the MP for Cape Coast North, Ebo Barton Odro.
