Re: Any New Post For Okudzeto And Mills' Appointees Will Be Legally Opposed - Woyome

Alfred Woyome has denied reports by his spokesperson Kwame Tawiah that any appointment to persons who served in the Mills administration would be legally challenged. Mr. Tawiah, according to a 9th January 2013 publication on Ghanaweb made assertions to the effect that Mr. Woyome intended to challenge in court, any appointment offered to the North Tongu MP by President Mahama. Mr Woyome earlier cautioned President John Mahama against appointing people connected to the case involving the GHC 51 million paid to him as judgment debt. But in a statement he signed today, Mr Woyome said he only advised the President and he denied issuing a warning to him (President Mahama) not to appoint persons connected to the fabrications of allegations and those involved in the so called arrest, leading to the numerous cases in the courts should not be considered now for appointment until after the determination of the cases, which may establish their culpability or otherwise. Below is a copy of the full statement Re: Any New Post for Okudzeto will be Legally Opposed - Woyome Our attention has been drawn to a 9th January 2013 publication on Ghanaweb supposedly granted by the spokesperson for Mr Woyome; Kwame Tawiah to Radio XYZ. The office has made several attempts to reach Kwame Tawiah on all his known phone numbers on receipt of this information to no avail. The office has not commented on any such issues, and is not against any appointment to persons who served in the Mills Administration. We would also not take legal action should anyone be appointed. Our office also did not warn President Mahama in the last press encounter. What was said, was an advice exercised by a citizen of this country to the President; that people who are connected to the fabrications of allegations and those involved in the so called arrest, leading to the numerous cases in the courts should not be considered now for appointment until after the determination of the cases, which may establish their culpability or otherwise. We would like to categorically state that our office has not issued any such statement on this issue. Signed
