NDC Owes NPP A Huge Debt Of Gratitude - Kwesi Pratt

Before and after the swearing-in of President John Dramani Mahama, there were speculations that he was under intense pressure from his party members; with some lobbying and canvassing for various positions. And indeed after the release of his first and second list of Ministerial appointments; after taking his oath of office, many are the groups that have emerged from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), lobbying for a person of their choice to be given a position. Speaking as a panelist on Radio Golds Alhaji and Alhaji, with host Suhiyini Alhassan, Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr said had it not been the electoral fraud petition filed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Supreme Court, the NDC would have been in serious internal crisis. He intimated that the ruling party should be grateful to the NPP because they have helped one way or the other in covering up the many agitations in the party due to someone who has not been appointed by the President. The NDC owes the NPP a huge debt of gratitude. The NPP has done something exceedingly wonderful for the NDC and a lot of people do not realize that. If the NPP had not filed the court suit, the NDC would have been faced with a huge (internal) crisis. If I were the NDC, I would be saying a very big thank you to the NPP he asserted. Meanwhile, he also feels that the court case has become an albatross hanging around the neck of the opposition party. According to him, because of the court case, the NPP is not able to concentrate on other issues like preparing for the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. Because of the court case, the NPP is not preparing itself for the next elections. All the concentration is on the court case and if I were a member of the NPP, I would be very very sad because it does appear that the court case would have a very huge impact on the future of the NPP and I dont see how they dont see it; it is incredible how they dont see that the court case has become a huge albatross around their neck he added.
