Chairman of the National Peace Council of Ghana, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Asante, has humbly replied the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong that even though he has accused him of working with Satan (Dr. Afari Gyan) to ensure the NDC is retained in power, it is better for Ghanaians to �work for peace than for violence�.
According to the chairman of the National Peace Council, though he had got wind of the litany of harsh words used against him by the NPP firebrand, he wouldn�t react in the same manner but rather �leave everything to the Lord�.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong had on monday, expressed shock at the way the Peace Council had gone silent on significant issues which has the potential of terrorizing the peace of this country and tearing it apart.
He described Rev. Professor Emmanuel Asante as a �deceptive man of God� who has turned the Peace Council into a �War Council�.
But in a direct response to the NPP scribe, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Asante established that his faith in Christianity wouldn�t allow him fight back. �One of the things Jesus Christ said was that �Father, forgive them for they don�t know what they are doing�. Even if Jesus had to be accused...remember that Mahatma Gandhi was killed because he was propagating peace and not violence.�
As a leader of the Christian Council, Rev Asante indicated on Radio Gold's paper review that he is well aware of the fact that certain decisions he takes wouldn�t favour some people and as a result, expects to be criticized.
�I mean you won�t engage in the kinds of things we do and expect that everybody would sing to your praise. My joy is that whilst others are vilifying us, majority also think that we are doing the right thing and I keep receiving text messages and encouragements�, he said.
