We Are Pleased With The Supreme Courts Decision Sir John

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has expressed satisfaction with the verdict of the Supreme Court ruling on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) joinder motion. The Court granted the NDCs application to join the respondents named in the NPPs petition challenging the results of the 2012 Presidential elections. My joy is that now that the NDC is being joined if the case goes against them, then they will have no way of complaining that they were not giving the opportunity to join. The way is clear now and the main matter can be. According to Sir John, the NPP have no intentions to seek a review on the Courts decision. We are okay, the NDC will join and the full matter will be heard and that is our [NPP] joy. The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) joinder motion brought by the party seeking to join the election petition filed by the opposition New Patriotic Party. The joinder motion was granted by 6-3 majority decision by the panel of judges. The Supreme Court has adjourned hearing of the substantive case to January 29.
