Kevin-Prince Boateng Delighted With Ghana's Display At AFCON

Former Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng congratulated his former teammates after watching them beat Mali 1-0 on Thursday at the Africa Cup of Nations. The 2010 FIFA World Cup star posted on his official Twitter account: "Congrats to Ghana black stars!!!very good performance against Mali" The Black Stars needed a 38th minute penalty from Nations Cup rookie Mubarak Wakaso to nick that slim victory. Ghana, thus, jumped to the summit of Group B after DR Congo were held to a shock 0-0 draw by less fancied Niger in Port Elizabeth. Boateng, a former Germany youth international, quit the Black Stars in November 2011 in order to focus on his fitness for his club AC Milan. That decision angered a lot Ghanaians who were of the opinion that the former Portsmouth star used the Black Stars to resurrect his club career. Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah held unsuccessful talks with the AC Milan player to convince him to rescind his decision.
