Kwesi Appiah Not Bothered About Misfiring Strikers At Nations Cup

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is not worried about the lack of goals from his strikers in the ongoing 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. The Black Stars have scored three times and conceded two in their opening two matches at the continental showpiece. The team lacked the firepower against Mali in their last encounter as they needed a Mubarak Wakaso 38th minute penalty to pick maximum points. Striker Asamoah Gyan is yet to sparkle with midfielders Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Mubarak Wakaso and Kwadwo Asamoah getting the three goals so far. The Ghanaian trainer says he is satisfied with the scoring ability of his team. I think weve played two games and scored three goals. I dont think its that bad considering the fact that our opponents are very strong, Appiah said at Saturdays press conference There is no way you can think of beating Mali between 4 to 5 goals. It could happen but you need to show respect to our opponent. The Black Stars will next play Niger in their final group B game at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth.
