Haruna Atta: NPP Members Are Subjecting Me To Barrage Of Attacks

The Editor-in-Chief of the Accra Daily Mail newspaper Alhaji Haruna Atta, has made an earnest call for tolerance despite the fact that he is being mistreated for stating his reasons for voting for President John Dramani Mahama. In what could possibly pass as an existential threat to the unity of the country, Alhaji Haruna Atta, who is also a leading member of the biggest opposition party, the NPP, opened up a new chapter on how a malevolent clique of powerful oligarchs, who now dominate the NPP, completely and scruffily treated Ghanas immediate late vice president, Alhaji Aliu Mahama. Speaking on Metro TVs current affairs program, Good Evening Ghana, hosted by Paul Adom Otchere recently, the veteran journalist noted that, one of the most shocking scandals in Ghanas political history was the deafening silence in the media and elsewhere in Ghana, about the apparent and shameful mistreatment, the late Aliu Mahama suffered at the hands of ex-President Kufour and the NPP. According to the astute media practitioner, he decided to vote for President John Mahama, the National Democratic Congress presidential candidate in the just ended elections not because he detests NPPs Nana Akufo-Addo, but because of what he refers to as the NPPs Akanistic posturing. After speaking out on this issue on Metro TV, Alhaji Haruna Atta says he has been under a barrage of attacks from members of the NPP. In an interview with Radio Gold Thursday morning, the ace journalist declined to discuss the attacks on him and stated he could also come across as intolerant by discussing the attacks on him. He asked the public as well as all persons irrespective of one's political affiliation to have a general positive mindset in life.
