AESNHIA exceeds revenue collection target

The Awutu-Effutu-Senya branch of the National Health Insurance Authority (AESNHIA) exceeded its revenue collection target for 2012 by GH29,533.00. In all, the branch collected a total of GH464,339.00 in revenue during the operational period of the past year, as against the GH434,806.08 target set for the branch by the National Insurance Authority. The amount, which represented only premium, was realized through special registration exercises the Scheme organised during the period in question as well as premium generated by the Winneba and Kasoa offices. Scheme collectors operating in Awutu-Bawjiase, Awutu-Beraku, Senya-Beraku and Effutu-Gyahaadze areas also made some significant contributions towards the achievement this goal. Mr Josiah Doam Kittoe (Jnr), the Scheme Manager for Awutu-Effutu-Senya branch, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Winneba on Monday. Mr Kittoe attributed the feat chalked by the Scheme to the collective efforts put up by workers of the various units of the Scheme. Addressing the workforce earlier, Mr Kittoe reminded them that a high sense of self-control, commitment backed by a strong team-spirit and hard work were the master keys for greater success in every human endeavour. He, therefore, advised the workers to let these qualities always be their hallmark to propel the Scheme for much greater achievement this year. Mr Kittoe stressed the need for the Scheme workers to endeavour to cultivate and effectively maintain a high level of time consciousness to guide them in their day-to-day activities. Meanwhile, management of the Scheme had launched a week-long special registration programme to rope in more members into the National Health Insurance Scheme. The exercise forms part of a nationwide special registration programme initiated by the management of the National Health Insurance Authority to promote the objectives of the policy.
