No Training For Black Stars Ahead of Burkina Faso Match

The Black Stars of Ghana will not be able to train on the pitch at Nelspruit following a heavy downpour. According to authorities, the Ghanaian players even though are not yet used to the pitch will be allowed to only walk on the pitch. There are already fears that the nature of the pitch might affect the Black Stars, who are new to the pitch which several teams have complained about. Ghana's training session late Monday afternoon was also disrupted due to non-stop rain in Nelspruit. Heavy rain had been forecast during the day but ten minutes into the start of the Black Stars' training the rains started. Though the team persisted, the intense downpour prevented Kwesi Appiah and his squad from continuing, ending the session. According to Citi FM reporter in South Africa, the Nelspruit pitch is a disaster and that would affect the senior national if they are not allowed to train on the pitch. The Mbombela pitch is gathering a lot of negative press even in the South Africa newspapers. Headlines in their newspapers describe the pitch as a disaster he said. The Burkina Bays who have played all their five matches on the pitch are not worried. Meanwhile Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah told the press on Monday that he is not bothered about the pitch and expect his player to do their possible best. I normally dont believe in the idea of this is a good pitch or this is a bad pitch. The most important thing is, its not you alone going to play on that pitch, and you are going to play with a team. Even though they (Burkina Faso) have had the opportunity to play on the pitch for some number of times, the most important thing is you psyche yourself up because weve got no choice whether the pitch is good or bad. He said
