NDC Communicator: ECG Must Learn From Other Energy Suppliers

A member of the ruling NDC Communications team has chided the nations major energy suppliers for the rampant shortage of energy to some parts of the country. The Electricity Company of Ghana a couple of weeks ago announced its plan to embark on a load shedding exercise following some complications. Prompted by the shortage of gas to power the countrys thermal plants, the exercise is intended to randomly supply electricity to consumers. Consumers of electricity have lodged several complaints about the load shedding exercise but it has yielded no results as numerous households for the past months have been thrown into total darkness. Fred Agbenyo speaking on Peace FMs Kokrokoo programme on Wednesday, registered his displeasure at ECG and VRA officials for not finding lasting solutions to curb the problem. Its not as if the whole world, theres no energy supply anywhere. That Ghana is the first country with electricity. Some have constant energy supply, so what does it take to learn from them?...Seriously, I dont get it, he stressed. He stated that the energy companies should adopt measures to address the electricity problem and therefore advised them to undergo training in countries that have successfully nipped the situation in the bud. I dont think we can continue this way. This is not rocket science, for us to say its never happened before. We should go to other countries, [the measures they adopted], those who are using hydro; those who are using energy or several other sources of energy, lets learn from them, he told Peace FM.
