Sulley Muntari Registered For Champions League Knock Out Phase

AC Milan have registered Ghana international Sulley Ali Muntari for the knock out stage of the 2012-2013 Uefa Champions League. The midfielder was not in the initial squad because of the injury he suffered prior to the start of the season and his place was taken by Guinean Constant Kelvin who is on loan from Genoa. Muntari fully recovered from injury two weeks ago and made his league start last weekend prompting coach Maximiliano Alegri to register him for the Champions League as he seeks to get more strength in the middle. The Rossoneri will lock horns with old foes Barcelona as both sides eye a place in the quarter-final of Europe's elite football competition. Meanwhile, Milan could not register new signing Mario Balotelli who banged in a double in his debut as he is cup tied by already playing for Manchester City in the competition.
