Kwadwo Asamoah Ruled Out Of Juventus Champions League Clash

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has confirmed that Kwadwo Asamoah will not be fit to face Celtic on Tuesday evening at Celtic Park. The Ghanaian met up with his teammates on Sunday afternoon in Glasgow, where he was originally included in the final 22-man squad selected to take on the Scottish outfit. The fears that his demanding African Cup of Nations schedule may see him only return for the weekend fixture against Roma were confirmed on Monday afternoon when the coach revealed his player was in no state to undergo more strenuous activity. Kwadwo returned yesterday and it would be asking too much of him to play after being away for a month and a half. Hell train and will be ready for Saturdays game against Roma, the coach announced in his press conference. Celtic qualified for the round of the final 16 for first time in five-years and Conte expressed his side host a great respect for their opponents but urged his players to continue pushing for the dream. Weve got great respect for Celtic and wont underestimate them, he added. Theyre back in the Champions League and, like us, are outsiders who want to go as far as possible. Theyre a physical team and score a high percentage of their goals from set pieces. Its a dream to be back in the Champions League and our dream is now to claim a place in the quarter-finals. We dont have any particular objectives, but were not placing limits on how far we can go.
