Road Transport Operators Out With New Transport Fares

In line with the announcement of in fuel prices, road transport operators upon consideration of their operational costs have issued new road transport fares. A statement signed by executives of all road transport unions say the new fares cover trotro, taxi, and long distance vehicles. The statement requires all road transport operators to comply with the new fares and post the fare list at their loading terminals so as to avoid any confrontation with the travelling public.For trotro fares, it says where the current fare is twenty pesewas, the new fare is twenty five pesewas, where the current fare is twenty five the new fare becomes thirty pesewas. Where the current fare is thirty pesewas, the new fare is thirty-five pesewas. Where the current fare is thirty-five pesewas, the new fare is forty pesewas. Where the current fare is forty pesewas, the news fare is forty five pesewas. Where the current fare is forty-five pesewas, the news fair is fifty pesewas. Where the current fare is fifty pesewas, the news fair becomes fifty-five pesewas. Where the current fare is fifty-five pesewas it becomes sixty pesewas, the new fare is sixty-five pesewas. Where the current fare is sixty-five pesewas, the new fare is seventy pesewas. Meanwhile, the former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the GPRTU Alhaji Antie has urged drivers to comply with the new fares.
